An argument can be made that after playing four characters in HBO’s limited series THE SYMPATHIZER, anything that comes next for Robert Downey Jr. will be a breeze. Nonetheless, the veteran actor and OSCAR® winner has found a new challenge, as it was confirmed last week that he will make his Broadway debut this fall in Ayad Akhtar’s new play McNeal, as a successful author with axes to grind. For now, Downey’s various characters have plenty of axes to grind in THE SYMPATHIZER, the first five episodes of which are on Crave, with two more to come, dropping on the next two Sundays.

Sydney Sweeney’s career is packing a big punch with the news that she’s going to play former professional boxer Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic. “I grappled and did kickboxing from 12 to 19 years old … I’ve been itching to get back into the ring, train, and transform my body,” said the 26-year-old Sweeney, who of course can be seen in HBO’s EUPHORIA, the first season of HBO’s THE WHITE LOTUS, and the 2023 hit rom-com Anyone But You, all on Crave. Speaking of movies about female boxers, 2004’s Million Dollar Baby – which won four OSCARS®, including Best Picture, and Best Lead Actress for Hilary Swank – is available on STARZ.
