Today’s Lede Stories
After a record-breaking inaugural regular season, TSN, TSN.ca, and the TSN app deliver exclusive live coverage of the 2024 PWHL PLAYOFFS, beginning tonight at 7 p.m. ET, with Toronto playing host to Minnesota (the unique post-season format saw first-place Toronto taking advantage of the opportunity to choose its first-round opponent). The other semi-final series gets under way tomorrow at the same time on TSN, with Boston visiting Montréal. Both semi-final series are best-of-five affairs, leading into the best-of-five PWHL Finals for the Walter Cup, and TSN’s full up-to-date schedule can be found here.
Whoopi Goldberg’s new memoir, Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me, was officially released yesterday, and it includes the complete and unedited origin story of her unique stage name. It apparently developed from a certain bodily function that occasionally was part of her early stage shows, a subsequent nickname that she tried to make more classy with a French accent, and ultimately her mom’s intervention to honour family history! The full details can be found here. Goldberg, of course, can be seen regularly hosting THE VIEW, weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on CTV, CTV.ca, and the CTV app, and she’s also a guest tonight on THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON, at 11:35 p.m. ET on CTV2.
