Toronto, ON (July 6, 2011) – TSN has extended its partnership with the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club with an extensive 10-year multimedia rights agreement making TSN the exclusive Canadian broadcaster for WIMBLEDON for the next decade. Beginning in 2012, TSN will broadcast the final weekend including both the Ladies' and Gentlemen's Singles Finals for the first time in the network’s history.

The broadcast deal for WIMBLEDON also includes all French-language multimedia broadcast rights for RDS.

TSN will have WIMBLEDON coverage from start to finish across a variety of platforms giving tennis fans even more coverage of one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world – and all of it live. This includes TSN and TSN2 delivering live simultaneous coverage during the second week – allowing for expanded coverage of the Round of 16 and live telecasts of all quarterfinals.

In addition to its extensive television coverage, TSN’s WIMBLEDON rights include matches on TSN.ca and TSN Mobile TV along with coverage on TSN Radio.

“TSN’s mandate has always been to bring the world’s best athletes and top sporting events to Canadians and we are thrilled to extend our partnership with the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and add the WIMBLEDON Finals to our slate of marquee championship events,” said Stewart Johnston, President, TSN. “Acquiring a long-term exclusive agreement for all WIMBLEDON coverage ensures that Canadian tennis fans will be well-served with exceptional live tennis coverage across multiple TSN platforms over the next decade.”

SPORTSCENTRE and TSN.ca will complement TSN’s WIMBLEDON coverage with extensive news, analysis and video from the All England Club. ESPN Classic will showcase great WIMBLEDON matches from the past.

With today’s announcement, TSN is the exclusive Canadian broadcaster of all four Grand Slam tennis events with deals for: AUSTRALIAN OPEN, FRENCH OPEN, WIMBLEDON and U.S. OPEN.

TSN’s WIMBLEDON coverage delivered a record audience this year. Audiences were up 21% compared to 2010.
