Today’s Lede Stories
Weekend edition“We would always say, when we were making part one, how do you kill three people over 30 years and get away with it? It takes a village. This season gets much more into the issue of complicity.” That’s director and executive producer Andrew Jarecki talking about his new HBO documentary series THE JINX – PART TWO, in a story by TV critic Bill Harris for The Lede. Premiering Sunday on Crave, PART TWO is a continuation of 2015’s award-winning THE JINX: THE LIFE AND DEATHS OF ROBERT DURST (also on Crave), which changed the true-crime documentary genre forever, and became a worldwide phenomenon.
Jay Baruchel is still worried about humanity’s demise. Who can blame him? Thus the need for Season 2 of WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE (EVEN JAY BARUCHEL), which premieres with all six episodes today on Crave. The Canadian Screen Award-winning series explores the many ways the world could end, and the potential solutions, with host, director, and executive producer Baruchel once again seeking the analysis and advice of top scientists, activists, and experts. As Baruchel puts it, “while it may seem like a bummer, the series is actually suffused with the ultimate hope to make the world a better place.”
