Today’s Lede Stories
There’s a valuable lesson to be learned in the brand-new trailer for Season 3 of SHORESY: perhaps it’s best not to wear #98 when playing against the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs, to avoid the chirpy wrath of the foul-mouthed title character. “One away from the Great One himself,” Shoresy taunts, referring to the fact that hockey legend Wayne Gretzky wore #99. “You must be pretty (bleep)ing good.” Created by and starring Jared Keeso, SHORESY returns on May 24, with two episodes dropping that day on Crave, and four more rolling out on a weekly basis. The new season sees the Bulldogs competing in the National Senior Tournament against teams from across Canada – the nation may never recover!
All five Spice Girls reunited last weekend at the 50th birthday party for Victoria Beckham (a.k.a. Posh Spice), and an impromptu sing-along was filmed and posted on Instagram by Victoria’s husband, soccer legend David Beckham. Coincidentally, it’s “Girl Group Night” tonight on THE MASKED SINGER (8 p.m. ET on CTV, CTV.ca, and the CTV app), which will see panelists Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, Rita Ora, and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg opening the show with a performance of the Spice Girls anthem, “Wannabe.” Speaking of McCarthy-Wahlberg, click here to read about her fun and previously secret connection to another popular CTV series.
